I would like to be able to create a sign up sheet that anyone can access without logging in.

When we do school cleaning and community projects that include the entire community, not just our school, I would like to be able to create a sign up sheet that all community members can access without logging in. I would publish a link, they could go to the sign up sheet and sign up to help for that event.

This feature is now available! In our Signup Sheets tool, you may select to use free form signups so visitors do not need to login with a username and password to signup for an entry. Check this out in the Properties of the Signup Sheets tool!

Hi Debbie,

This seems like a practical and great idea! Our signup sheets is a tool that seems a bit under-used, and maybe that it because it's associated with the members database. Having it an open sign-up would require the form to retain email addresses and likely lose the ability to automatically email notifications and reminders, as that is all integrated within the members database.

We'll review this request and update this thread if we are able to move this into a development project. If anyone else reading this thread thinks this is a good idea - please vote & comment. Your votes on these enhancements make a difference!

There are a couple options, Debbie that might be workarounds:

  1. Could you explore using the calendar? You could create a new, separate category, and then have your dates - maybe breaking into shifts, posted. Setup your events with the RSVP feature. Add this calendar to its own page with instructions above the calendar tool to RSVP for the shift and/or job. Be sure to consider adding the Invite A Friend on the event too, so your users can easily email the info to other people.
  2. What about a short form creator, and then create drop down menus or check boxes for people to select tasks/shifts? That can all be exported as a spreadsheet as the submissions come in.
  3. You'd have to either experiment with this or email support - as I'm not totally sure it would work -- but maybe a generic member access would be possible on the sign-up sheet?

Hope these help!

I would like this feature as well. Here's where I'm thinking it would be great - conference sign up where when a person takes the spot, no one else can sign up for that conference spot. We don't give the member log in information to all of our parents so it would be great if they could sign up using the sign up sheet without having to log in.

This would be a great tool to have. We rely heavily on volunteers here, and providing them a way to sign up without calling the office during office hours would be very beneficial!
